Quick question of my own:

Why is it that JoeUser Conservatives carry around their Goddamn pedestals in a holster, just waiting for the opportunity to whip them out? Why is it that they can be having a civilized discussion with people of different viewpoints, but the second that someone (emphasis on the word "one", as in singular) resorts to bad debating technique (i.e. namecalling), they immediately clutch at this as a way to launch an unified attack against anyone who disagrees with them, regardless of whether or not these other people have ever called anybody anything?

Oh, and I should also mention that approximately 5 seconds after getting on their high horse, they start namecalling too, but its ok when they do it because they recant their generalizations as soon as someone notices, then say that they were only talking about "certain members" of the group they disagree with, and they're sorry if someone misinterpreted. I believe this is what they fervently called "flip-flopping" a couple of months back.

And if they don't do this, rest assured that they will namecall anyways, but its ok because someone did it to them first, or some other such nonsense.

At this point, let me just exclude Dr. Guy from this article, since he's the only Conservative whom I can't recall has ever resorted to the aforementioned tactics. And Moderateman, for the most part.

Lastly, can we stop these articles about people and what they do and how they disagree with you and how horrible they are? If any of us really wanted to, I'm sure we could come up with at least one article a day about why the Conservatives and/or Liberals here suck. But we don't, cuz we don't get anywhere.

Just like I didn't here.

If you're talking about me...well...I think most "liberals" do their fair share of name calling as well. I don't think anyone in any political scope is guiltless of that.

My point exactly. Which is why it's pointless to have articles accusing one side or another of it.

Nicely put. Everyone has double standards and everyone don't see it.

Long Live Double Standards! Isn't that what our American two party system is?

I'm sure I've probably failed my own good debate litmus test a few times by name calling although I try to make an effort to debate with facts instead of emotions. I don't think it could be said that I am in the habit of it though.

But calling conservatives "self-righteous" is really no better. One could just as easily argue that liberals were being self-righteous by insisting their views were the correct ones and resorting to insults and name calling while complaining about the name calling. Kinda like posting an article decrying one group for name calling while calling them "self-righteous" in the title of the article. I hate to break it to you but that's also "name calling".

The article, and the title, was in response to another article which accused JoeUser Liberals of namecalling whenever any sort of debate took place. Since I wished to attract the same readership from that article, I mirrored my title after it, so, once again, I didn't start this.
