This was written for the soldiers, and for all the people that have loved and lost. Please remember, our troops are not the war, our troops are not the Bush administration, our troops are not an ideology or a strategy or a point of view that you have to protest. Our troops are our family, and they deserve our unconditional love.

I had a brother once
Inseperable
Two for one
A package; my moon to his sun
My moves to his sound
My drinks were his round
Any city we were in turned into our town
We rolled together
Through sun or storm, wether
or not there was lightning or thunder or wether
the sky was dropping around both our heads
If we had nothing but water and two slices of bread
We'd share it
In that case, die together
Like we'd ride together
And then fly together
Up to Heaven to see the Lord God above
Philadelphia's never seen this kind of brotherly love
Our battles
We stared them down back to back
We ran the same track
My green was his stack
and never
Did we expect to ride together forever
The winds of change blow
God changes the weather
I had a brother once

I had a brother once
We were sitting in class one day
Celebrating silently for getting a passing grade
Then the room got quiet
Could have heard an earthworm sighing
Then someone brought in a TV
Saw these mother fuckers flying
Airplanes into my America I saw my people dying
They were jumping from the rafters
Heard my unborn children crying
Then I slowly turned and looked at him
I saw it had its hooks in him
I knew he wasn't leaving 'til he'd gotten what it took from him
I couldn't see beyond the outer surface of his eyes
I have never been that scared
I really thought that he had died
Or at least slipped into a coma that he'd have to hold inside
and that he wouldn't let me past those walls no matter what I tried
The walking dead
The walking rage
We just kept walking side by side
Going through motions and emotions we were struggling to hide
But on our way home we could talk
We were alone and as we walked
He turned to me and silently whispered a strangled "Holy fuck."
I said "I know."
He didn't move
He just said "Bro, I gotta go."
I turned around
I said "I know man, you told me eight hours ago."
And we turned and walked in silence
and we thought about the violence
The world never looked so ugly as it did that day through my lens
I had a brother once

I had a brother once
I had a brother and you took him
If you think there's anything but love in our Creator's book
You are a heathen
your idolitry
just sickens me
It's blasphemy
Your fantasy
is to be the creator
I just cannot see
Humanity
Behind your blackened soul
You're not human
You're all animals
You mother fucking cannibals
You aren't men
You're better dead
Adorn my castle with your heads
You killed my brother, this is true
But where he falls, there will rise two
And they will be my brothers too
And we begin our life anew
I hope that as you burn in hell
that God Himself stops by to tell
the universal story
It starts
I had a brother once

I like those two verses.
